Moving to Dubai in March 2011!
 

Hi everyone!

As you can probably gather from the title I am moving to Dubai in March and am EXTREMELY excited about the move!!!!!:thumbsup:

My name is Adam and I am 23 from London. When I received a job offer from a headhunting firm I jumped at the chance. I suppose my main reasons for the move are the sunshine, quality of life improvement, tax breaks but mostly the adventure of it all!

I would really appreciate if anybody could share any advice with me regarding my move. E.g. Where is the best place to live (I am after a one/two bed apartment in a good central location)? Where are the best places for young people to hang out and meet new people (Bars/clubs)?? And also any general advice on moving would be greatly appreciated!

Anyway, I don’t want to bore anyone so I’ll leave it there. I hope to get to know as many people as possible and who knows maybe gain a few golf/drinking partners along the way….?

Hi Adam and congratulations on the job!! We have a Middle East Section on the site, so I will move this over there, if I can figure out how. All I will say is make sure the offer is a good one, ánd that you get your housing paid etc.

I see you've already jumped in and started posting in our ME Forum. The members who post in that forum will do their best to answer any questions you may have about life in Dubai.

There is also an Introduction thread in the Sand Pit...why don't you pop over there and introduce yourself?

Nice one Adam. Just be careful whom and where you kiss :) I'm looking for a good courier company to ship stuff out there. I have a uncle workign in Dubai. Let me know if you hear of anyone good.
