Default Moving to Charlotte, NC

Hello,
I am moving to Charlotte due to my husbands new job. We have a nineteen year old son who has to go back to college (although here he has just finished an administration apprenticeship and has been working in recruitment) and i have no idea on the college entry system etc. We also have a twelve year old English cocker spaniel who has separation anxiety when left alone. Can anyone offer advice on colleges, areas to live (we have looked at Baxter Village, SC and The Palisades, NC) as well as how to find good accommodation. At present we want to rent before making any rash decisions on areas etc.
Thanks for helping

Hi SB, welcome to BE.

This is the welcome area for new members, so you will need to post your actual questions over in the US sub-forum, where you will catch the attention of the right group of members - including me as I live in NC and used to work in Charlotte.

At this stage I would only say that where you will want live will depend on where you need to get to for work, and college, as commuting can be very slow in some parts of Charlotte, especially on the south side, and of course depend on your budget. Personally I would be cautious about living in SC if that meant a commute to downtown (known locally as "uptown") Charlotte.
