Default Mom born in Ireland

My mother was born in Derry Ireland, my dad is American, would I be eligible for British citizenship based on my mother being born in Derry?

Is this Londonderry? if so, then she would have been an Irish Citizen, strangely enough, even in the divided country all people born there get Irish citizenship, and therefore you are one by descent

The OP also qualifies for British Citizenship by descent if born after 1983.

Just apply for a British passport using the link below -

You are a British citizen if you were born after 1983 and can apply directly for a British passport. If you were born before 1983 you can register as a British citizen and then apply for a British passport.

You are also an Irish citizen regardless of when you were born and so you can also apply directly for an Irish passport.
