Looking to make move to Aus
Hi everyone . My hubby and I have decided that the time is right for us to make the move to Aus, after many months (years even!) of discussing it. We are right at the front-end of the process, trying to complete the application for a Skills Assessment and hoping to get a state-sponsored visa before the rules change in July ..... hope we haven't left it too late !! We will be happy and grateful to get as much help and advice here as you all can give us. Thanks

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Hi VAPreest
First of all welcome to BE.
I recommend you check out our Australia forum, which is full of extremely useful information. You can also chat to others who are either oin the process of or actually have moved there, so I am sure many of them will be only too willing to offer tips and advice to help you along the way - and you will be making friends in the process too.
You will find the forum by clicking on the 'forum index' tab on the top left of this page, scroll down the list of countries, double click on Australia and you're in.
In the meantime I wish you the very best with your plans

Re: Looking to make move to Aus
Hi there
I've just re-joined this site today. Have been here before, got through medicals, job for ex-husband, told family, then separated and had a really messy divorce.
Now out of the blue, current partner of nearly 4 yrs decides Oz is for us. I couldn't be more pleased, eldest kids told and up for it, not told the 6 and 7 yr olds yet.
Have been scanning posts for getting NRP consent, have a feeling he's going to try and make it messy again, but we're older, wiser and not about to shell out thousands of £'s on solicitors fees again!
So 'hi', where abouts in Australia are you looking to move to?
I'm a nurse and OH a mechanic/air con technician.

Hi
We are in the same boat hoping to move in May. Thinking of Perth but still at early stages of Visa process.
Keep in touch with any updates you might get please?
Thanks

We're looking at Perth, as OH is a mechanical engineer, so the mines are possibly the way forward. I can work anywhere as a general nurse, so not too fussy.
