L1 a to green card
Greetings,
I have been asked to move to the USA from HK and will would do so under an L1a visa. Is it possible to get my company to apply for a GC as soon as we land or does one have a wait a while? Linked to that is an EB1 permanent visa harder to get than an L1a ?
Many thanks
Markus

Yes of course it is possible to get your company to apply for a green card as soon as you land- you need to ask for this and your company needs to agree to do it.
One can apply for a green card as soon as one lands, it's getting the company to apply for it that is the issue. You'd need their agreement in writing before you go as to when they are prepared to apply for the green card for you.

Be sure to check out the USA section of the forum, you will find many members there who will be able to answer your questions.
In addition, be sure to read the USA section of the Wiki, which can be found in the blue bar at the top. It's got a bucket of information on it, and you will find that you will get much better answers to specific questions if you have done some research yourself first.
Good luck!
