Just off the Boat!!!
WHERE IS EVERYBODY?? Hey, my other half and our kids are here just 7 weeks, we have a pretty, sociable 16 yr old daughter desperate to make friends (girls & boys) and another daughter at 6 years and son at 5 years...we'd love to meet similar families, people to socialise and have a laugh with, we are easy going! So please get in touch, we dont bite!!! looking forward to hearing from you xx

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

I'm not much use to you then being in Brisbane! Have a look here though. http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95 as we have loads of posters over there and there are often meet ups in various areas of Perth

You mention your 16 year old daughter - who may wish to join BE as well as we have a YOUTH CLUB forum especially for expat teenagers, where she can chat with other expat kids her age, some of whom are bound to live near you guys in Oz.
You will find the Youth club forum by clicking on the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page. Scroll down past the sections entitled 'living and working abroad' and 'working abroad by profession' and it is listed in the next blue headed section.
It could be a great way for your daughter to make new friends and get reassurance about any little niggles and worries she has about her new life down under.
