We have a great bunch of people who post in our Australia Forums...they will give you tips and advice on life Down Under. The link I have given you will take you to the main index page of the Australia Forum...at the top of the page you will see a list of sub forums. The top forum is the Immigration Forum...the Main forum is for topics relating to Australia and The Barbie is for general chit chat.
I recommend you take a look in the BE Wiki There may also be relevant information in the stickied threads or announcements that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page...please take time to read through them before you begin to post.
Kelli28, Sherlock Holmes and newjersey are the concierges for the Australia forums...so if you have any problems finding your way around our many forums please contact Kelli, Alistair or newjersey
For all other concerns or problems please contact a moderator or admin. Every BE forum has at least one moderator dedicated to that forum...Australia has 4...Cresta57, Monneypenny20,, Sonlymewalter and Alfresco.
Please shout out if you require help with anything...there is usually someone around to lend a helping hand. Good luck.

Hi Minnow,
Welcome to BE.
You've certainly come to the right place to pick up some tips for moving to Australia. We have lots of members who are in the middle of planning the move (like yourself) and lots of members who have already made the move. So you are amongst kindred spirits here
Welcome again and I hope that you settle into our little virtual community.

(I've been away for so long, and yet I still think of it as home ‘over home’).
I see both Jerseygirl and Sue have been round to give you pertinent links and info. on the Oz forums.
And so I'll simply bid you welcome, and greetings from Ontario, Canada!
With every good wish,
Christian

Re: On the Move to Oz
We are going through the skills one as my husband has an engineering background and is on the skills needed list. We are using a migration agent, word of mouth really as some very close friends of ours have just received their visa and they move out to Oz early March 2012, so were leaving a lot of the 'hard work' up to the agent. Were, well my husbands skills are currently being assessed, so we will know more in a few weeks.

Welcome to BE to you too.
I would recommend you check out the Australia forum where you will find all things visas. You can find it by clicking th 'forum index' button on the pink bar at the top of this page. Scroll down the list of countries, double click on Australia and you're in. There are lots of sections including one with information on immigration so hopfully you will find lots of useful information to help.
If you can't find something just pop onto the forum and ask - someone will know.
Good luck with your plans

I see you have already reposted your questions in the Australia Immigration forum. That really is the best place to post all your immigration questions in....you will get a much better response to your questions from the people who post in that forum. Good luck.
