Default Howdo!! Thinking of moving to Canada

Just signed on to the forum and thought I'd pop in and say hello.

I'm in the UK but thinking seriously about moving to Canada. I'm a class 1 driver and have been looking around at the jobs advertised for about 6 months. Any help or advice would be gratefully received as it seems there is a lot of conflicting information!

Hi Wookie

First of all welcome to BE.
Unfortunately I can't help you with info on Canada as I normally lurk in the Goa and India forums, however we do have a Canada forum which I would recommend you checking in on. You will find it by clciking on the 'forum index' tab on the top left corner of this page. Scroll down the listed countries, double click on Canada and you're in. Just introduce yourself, ask any questions you have, and I am sure you will receive lots of replies from expats who have already made the move or are in the process of doing so - therefore you should receive accurate information.
We also have a 'working abroad by profession section' where you will find a dedicated truckers forum, which is definitely well worth a visit for you. You will also find this on the forum index page in the section below the listed countries. there is a job offers and jobs wanted section, and the opportunity to chat to other folks in the driving industry to find out about available opportunities.

In the meantime all the very best with your plans and enjoy the forums
If you need a helping hand navigating the site, pop back here and let us know..

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Hi and welcome to BE.

You've certainly come to the right place to chat with others who have moved, or are moving to Canada. Everyone is so great at sharing tips and stuff so I'm sure you will pick up lots of info. Have a read through the Canada forum and we also have a Trucking forum where we have a quite a few discussion about trucking in Canada.

Welcome again and Happy New Year.
