AJ looking for some sun

Good evening from the east coast of Scotland

I am looking for advice as I have too many options.

Briefly, my situation is this, I am now in a position to move anywhere (son grown and half way through Uni), single and ready for a move. Don't get me wrong, I love Scotland but I don't want to get to the end of my days never having tried living anywhere else. Plus I would love to become fluent in a second language.

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with 6 years experience, currently working as Support for Learning. I know I could get a full time job in an international school but I do not want to work in a school full time. I have considered doing the CELTA, any advice on that? Prior to teaching I worked in Student Support, Community Education and I am a good at admin. I was also a chef once upon a time.

I have been learning Spanish for the past year but I still consider myself a beginner and this does not mean I would only consider Spain. I figure if I have managed the Spanish so far I can learn another language.

I will have a little bit of money to do for a wee bit so I could do some in-country language study first. Is this a good idea?

So, where should I go? I would prefer mainland Europe, the sunny bits! What are other people's experiences of making the move? Working in international schools? Being single, 40-something and in a foreign land?

P.S. Just to complete the stereotype of a single, middle-aged woman, I will be taking my two cats with me
