Default Hi.. USA here we come..

Joined BE a few weeks ago, and I am loving the wealth of information available.

I am currently in the process of applying for an EB1 with a plan to move to Los Angeles later this year.

My work experience is in Radio / TV and Live Event production and I'm lucky to have employment opportunities already lined up in LA, as does my partner (soon to be spouse).

... the scary part for us is the basics of a move like this with no company relocation support.. so I'll be searching the forum for advice on car buying, SSN obtaining, driving licence application, accommodation renting and perhaps most important moving my dog over to the USA! All as a DIY project !

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Rosemary

Welcome to BE and good luck with that, ain't easy going direct without getting a visa first....but there's plenty of threads and wiki info which I'm sure you've seen covering a lot of your initial questions

Well, we won't be starting until the visa is approved - hopefully soon!
The wiki, and sticky threads are amazingly helpful.. already been through most of them in the last couple of weeks since I joined.

Thanks guys!

If you have questions, I would do a search in the appropriate forum first, you may well find the answer is already there.

That's exactly my plan - although I'm sure there'll be specifics that I may need more detailed help with!
