Hi - Moving to Canada
Hi, my name is Anna and I've joined this site as my husband is moving to Canada and hopefully myself and children will be following him next year. I was hoping someone would be able to give me advice regarding the move.

The link in my signature will probably be useful, and you can post any questions in the forum - somebody is always happy to try and help.
Hope to see you in the Canada section soon.

Re: Hi
Which area of Canada will you be moving to? We have several excellent forums covering Canada...the people who frequent those forums will be pleased to help you with advice, information and tips about The Great White North.
I'll give you a few useful links to help you find your feet around the forums. If you click on this link it will direct you to the index page of the main Canada forum. At the top of the page you will see a list of sub forums...the top one being the Immigration Forum. Any questions relating specifically to the immigration process should be posted there. The main forum is for topics relating to Canada and the Maple Leaf is for general chatter. We have a lively group of posters...so you should get many helpful answers to your questions. Please take a few moments to read any sticky threads or announcements that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.
The BE Wiki is a great source of information...I recommend you take a read through the Canada section.
If you have any problems finding your way around the many BE forums AmyDavid is the concierge for the Canada forums...she will be act as your BE tour guides to help you find your way around.
For any other questions, problems or concerns please contact a moderator. The mods for the Canada forums are Iaink and Christmasoompa.
Please shout out if you require assistance with anything...there's always someone around to help out. Good luck.

Re: Hi
I've been in Canada for donkey's years, so that the immigration process has changed considerably, moreover I came to relatives. However, I am rather familiar with the place, and what a Briton might encounter as markedly different from back home. Where in the UK are you from, and —as asked already— where are you heading? The lower British Columbia coast has beautiful mild weather like England, the rest can be as cold as it is infamous for ... and Québec, where I started out when I first came over, is a bit of a law unto itself, so to speak.
I see Jerseygirl has you all set up for links and helpful information and christmasoompa has already welcomed you, and so it just remains for me to bid you welcome myself, and greetings from Ontario, Canada!
With every good wish,
Christian

Re: Hi
Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
