Hi, I'm new to the site and looking for advice about moving to the U.S.
Hi everyone, thanks for accepting me to the forum.
I've joined up hoping to get help and advice on a permanent move to the States. My wife is a USC but has lived here in the UK with me for the past 7 years of which we have been married for 6 years.
I'll take a look around the forum first before I start asking questions as I feel it's only fair to do that rather than just expecting answers to questions that I'm sure have been asked many times already and I don't want to waste people's valuable time having to repeat themselves over and over.
Thanks again, Steve.

I would suggest looking in this forum, you should find answers to most of your questions.
Marriage Based Visas - British Expats
also ensure she gets British Citizenship before you move.

But I must ask, why would we need to get my wife her British Citizinship before moving?

Hi Stevie...welcome to BE.
Getting UK citizenship would be a good idea...then if you can't settle in the US you can both move back to the UK without any problem.
We have an excellent forum to help guide you through UK citizenship...
Citizenship/Passports and Spouse/Family Visas (UK) - British Expats
Good luck.

But yes, I second the chance to get UK citizenship before moving, while eligible it's much easier to get and be done with it than trying to get a visa back to the UK these days if things don't work out because it's quite tricky these days.

Criteria for immigration changed in 2012 in the UK - it's much tougher now to bring in non EU spouses.

I see you're point about getting my wife a U.K visa but seriously she does not want to return here.
We've talked about this on a few occasions and it's pretty clear there's no intention of wanting to come back other than a holiday at the most.
Her health conditions for one, she's even been told by a specialist she could do with a warmer climate to help her, and the north east of England isn't a warm place by most peoples standards.

7 years away, a lot changes.
Most folks don't have a intention to move back after a huge move. A number of folks regret not having the option later though.
