Hi, I'm new to this so I will introduce myself. I came out here as a £10 pom in 1961 from Jersey where I left all my family behind. Some have visited but none emigrated. I have seen a lot of Australia, which I love, & met lots of lovely people in all states. I have worked in most states in Australia but now settled & retired in Melbourne (from nursing). I have a Jersey friend in Perth but have met no Channel Islanders in Melbourne. Where did they all go?
I was in Jersey in August, first time for 9 years, & found it as beautiful as ever but very expensive & overcrowded. It was good to see my brothers & sister again though & meet up with old friends.

Thanks for your welcome & help. Coincidentally, have just been introduced, by a mutual acquaintance, to a lady living in Melbourne who also hails from Jersey. Have spoken on the phone but have arranged to meet. Look forward to it.
