Default Hi All

Hi everyone,
I'm Martin, married with 3 kids, we're living in England at the moment but our plan (hope) is to buy a house in the St Petersburg area of the United States, use it as a holiday home, renting it out if needs be while we work on moving into it permanently in what we think will be approx 6 years time.
Our eldest is 12 now so we're trying to move out in time for him to go to college at 18.

I've come on here to seek advice about buying in the USA and eventually find out about finding work etc...

to BE.

Unless you or your wife are American it is very difficult to move to the US. Take a look through this...if you fit into any of the categories you may have a chance of moving across the pond.

There are several current and past threads listing the pros and cons of buying a holiday home in our US Forums. It's easy to buy a home in the US...but there are lots of hidden costs, property taxes, garden/pool/house maintenance, AC etc.

Please give me a shout if you require help with anything site related. I look forward to seeing you in the US Forums.

Small world hey, thanks to both of you, I own a recruitment business so our plan for getting into the US is too either set up a business here or invest in an existing US business, last time we looked we'd need $200k or so.

My wife's best friend and husband live and work in Orlando but we far prefer Tampa/St Pete's, we've been coming over here every year or so for the last 8/9 years but depending on work opportunities we may even consider Miami.

In that case I suggest you head over to our US Immigration Forum. The people who frequent that forum will do their best to answer any questions you may have about setting up a business in the US.

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
