Hello! From a small island to the biggest!
Hi....
We have started the Australian visa process (a 176 so hubby tells me!) and have employed an agent to do it all....an investment in our future
)
We are a family of 5....Rachel, Alan, Jennifer (5), Kirsten (2) & Hamish (14weeks) and currently live in Jersey, Channel Islands.
We have been mulling over a move to Oz since Kirsten was born and now we're done having babies we feel the time has come to pull our fingers out and finally do something about it!!
I travelled/lived in Oz for 18m from 2000-2002 & have family in Melbourne so the tug has been there for a while. Hubby on the other hand visited Sydney for 6 days for work 5 years ago & fell in love with the place then....
I have been reading heaps of posts on the forum to get a feel for the pros & cons of all things Australian....the biggest one since I was there is the now poor exchange rate £/AU$ & the very high cost of living (the taxes always have been high!)
I look forward to being able to pick some brains on all the various tedius questions which I will no doubt have and you will all no doubt have heard 1000 times! So I thank you all in advance)

I see you have already found our Australia forum where you can chat with plenty of other folks who have made the move, or are like you and in the process of moving there. I am sure the folks on there will be only too happy to help with good advoce and information to help you along.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
