Hi All, I have had a look around the site, lots of helpful advice and info just what I am looking for.
I have set my sights on living in India for a while, am a white middle-aged female and any advice on how to make this happen is appreciated.

I've only spent a couple of days in India on holiday...so I'm afraid I cannot help you. You would be best taking a look around our India forum and posting your questions there.

Hello and welcome to the forum 
I don't think that India has any mechanisms for "non-Indian" folks to live full time in India, unless of course you have landed a job out there? But try asking in the India section, as Jerseygirl has suggested.
