Hello from NC
Hello all,
I am very happy to have found this forum and am excited at the prospect of connecting with some British people local to me.
Moved to NC with my 16 year old son to be with my USA born spouse. Been a big adjustment but so far so good.
I love to socialise so having a cricle of friends is important to me. And there are times when skype isn't quite enough.

We have quite a few members living in NC. Hopefully you will make a few real life friends as well as cyber friends through BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

I notice you mention your son who is 16 and thought I would mention that we also have a forum especially for teenagers called the YOUTH CLUB.
You will find it by clicking on the 'forum index' tab at the top left of this page, scroll down past the lists of countries and the working abroad sections and it's further down - just double click and you're in. Just thought your boy may enjoy getting to know some other guys his age who are expat kids so he can check out all the stuff he might want to know - without the parents of course lol.
