Hello! Moving to Charleston!
Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site but a single dad trying to organize a move to Charleston South Carolina next year. Biggest concern is reputable movers. Daughters finishing school and heading to uni so it's just me moving.
Have lived in the US previously so visa etc not an issue. But a good mover is. Any and all suggestions welcome. I haven't done an international move for years! Hopefully, this is the last.. many thanks.
Ron

Re: Hello! Moving to Charleston!
Hi Ron and welcome to BE. You've chosen one of the more popular countries to emigrate to and one of the hardest.
I'm directing you to our USA forum but note that one of the very first things you are going to be asked over and over again, until you are tired of answering, is how you propose to do this. They are a great group of people and very knowledgeable about what needs to be to make your move easier both in settling in and leaving the UK. Depending on how you are going to be doing this may mean that your daughter, if she is under the age of 21, should come with you for the opportunity of obtaining a green card. Again, that all depends on your visa.
Have a read of the site rules, please, and then venture into the USA forums for meeting up with your fellow countrymen who have left the UK to make the US their home.
