Hello from Leeds
Hi
I'm Dee, a mid-thirties geek working and living in Leeds. I haven't decided where I want to move yet but in 6-12 months I'll be free to do so
Initially looking at Melbourne or Vancouver where I have friends. I may even do a short hop, skip and jump to Europe as my job is quite portable.
Right now, reasearch!

You're in luck because we have several excellent forums covering Australia and Canada. Both Melbourne and Vancouver are very popular places for expats to make their home. Many of our members live in both areas...they will be pleased to give you info and advice.
There is also a ton of information in the BE Wiki.
Before you begin posting please read through the 'stickied threads' that are posted at the top of the forum's index page. You will note that we have an Immigration Forum for both countries...all questions regarding visas/immigration process should be posted in there.
Kelli28, Sherlock Holmes and newjersey are the concierges for the Australia forums and AmyDavid is the concierge for the Canada forums.
If you have any problems finding your way around our many forums please contact either of them.
For all other concerns or problems please contact a moderator or admin. The mods for the Australia Forums are...Cresta57, Monneypenny20,, Sonlymewalter and Alfresco. The mods for the Canada forums are Iaink and Christmasoompa.
I hope you enjoy your time with us and please shout out should you require any help.

I once dated a Yorkshire lass whose Mum was from Leeds ... only that's a story for another day.
Welcome to B.E. You sound at a wonderfully exciting point in your life! I see Jerseygirl already has you kitted up for links and information here on the site, and pointed you in some directions you may have an interest in pursuing further research.
And so I'll simply bid you: Greetings from Ontario, Canada!
With every good wish,
Christian

Hi Dee
I spent the best years of my youth living in Hyde Park, Burley and Chapeltown. After a brief spell on the wrong side of the Pennines I am now in California! Good luck with your travels

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
