.... and heading to Kings Lynn, Norfolk UK sometime in 2010 we hope.
We are married, 60+, no kids, 1 adopted cat, UKC and naturalized USC, near Raleigh NC.
We came over from Kings Lynn some 18 years ago on a job transfer with his then employer and stayed, but as we approach retirement age it's coming our time to move back which has always been on the cards. The employer closed and scarpered a few years ago but we have been able to find other work since but the time comes to give it all up and retire and for us that will be UK by choice.
It's be a good adventure living here, we have experienced a lot of good things that would not have been possible had we not come over, so as we said when we made the decision to come to US, no regrets no matter what happens, and we'll say the same on our journey back to UK.
Well, of all the preps, kitty is the one that is most prepared and will clear his rabies waiting period in March 2010. The house smartening is going well and we should be ready to advertise it by Feb. We are getting there on deciding what goes with us and what goes up for sale. Of all the matters to resolve, our investments is causing the most angst as we try to figure out to best legal way to hold onto the value, not the actual investments, of what we have saved. We posted a few questions already and received some kind responses as well as finding others already posted. Hopefully we will be able to share our discoveries for the benefits of those yet to come on the same journey.
Cheers, June and John
