Hi there. American wife of British expat here, just starting to research moving back to the UK. Cornwall, actually.

Astonished and grateful for the amount of information on this forum. You folks are amazing.

Four years (at least) from retirement, we're considering different possibilities, including the giddy hope of keeping our home in Houston and buying one in Cornwall. We would like to live in the two places, eventually.

I will go to the Moving Back area with this, but wanted to start here.

We are seeking a good tax professional who is familiar with the US/UK tax systems and can review different scenarios with us before we decide anything.

There are the various professional organizations of course, but does anyone have any additional tips about how to find such a person?

In case anyone is interested, we have a good life here in Houston plus deep roots and much-loved family in Devon/Cornwall. We have lived in the UK several times over the years, and visit the UK every year.

Almost forgot the hobbies part - in no particular order I love: coffee, walking, whist, and making things for my family & friends. I hate mimes. Honestly.

Any advice or ideas appreciated.
