Hi, and welcome to the forum!
As suggested, post again in the dedicated France forum, where we're all there to help and advise. Give some more details, e.g. whereabouts in France, whether you'll be renting or buying, whether you both speak French, etc... Take a look in the "Growing Old in France" and other pertinent threads in the Read Me: Moving to France FAQs at the top of the France forum, and bear in mind, post-Brexit, that you need to acquire a long-term Visa from the French Consulate while you're still in the UK. Many more details will be given in the France forum after you've posted there!
