Hello everyone (Canada bound)
Hi all.
Sorry it's a bit of a long one.
I'm a divorced dad of 4 from the uk that has been asked a tricky question which has lead me here in search of as much info as possible.
I have been approached by my ex wife and her Canadian partner and asked if I would consider moving to Canada.
They have been thinking about it but have said they won't take the kids away from me as such but thought they had nothing to loose by asking me.
To be fair I have always liked the idea of Canada so my main question would be how in the world do I go about moving/working/imagrating to Canada?
Paperwork wise what do I need etc.
I have been looking online and am extremely confused so I thought I might see if anyone with experience can shed a little light for me.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi, and welcome to BE.
You'll need to work out if you are eligible for a visa, that will depend on things like your age, your skills, your funds, your education etc.
Start with the eligibility test on the CIC website here - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...come-to-canada
And once you've done that first basic step, pop over to the Canadian immi section of the forum and you can ask more about visas and we'll try and help you work out if you are eligible for one. If you can give as much info as possible when asking (i.e. education etc as outlined above, and what the eligibility test said), then we can help.
One thing to be aware of given your situation; if you do move, and hate it, if the kids are in Canada then you'd either be stuck there or have to move back without them. Once they're there, you wouldn't be able to remove them without their mother's permission (just as she can't remove them from the UK now without your permission). So that's something to consider.
Best of luck to you.
