Hello everyone

Been lurking for ages thought it was about time I joined up as the idea of immigrating has been more and more appealing recently! I'm a coded tig welder in the UK, originally from Azerbaijan. Welding in the UK is pretty awful so wanting to head away for a better wage, better location and a more interesting job

Hello and welcome to the forum

I see you are finding your way around the forum and discovered the Canada section, so shall leave you to it.

You might possibly find some interesting info in the Working Abroad by Profession section. I don't know. But you can take a look and maybe do a search within that sub-section. (You'll find a Search button on each forum page.) You can follow this link below.

Hey buddy, I have also been working in same field for years and now I am thinking to migrate to US. Do you think there is any possibility for me?

Thanks I'll have a look through it.

I really wanted to go to the USA after I went over for a holiday but I think it's harder to get to. I didn't really look into it that much but I know you'll have to get a company to sponsor you and they aren't really desperate enough for welders to pay so much for a sponsorship. Best bet is probably to contact some companies and see, alot of jobs do say at the bottom of the description that applicants must have right to work in the USA. I'm not sure what the deal is with temporary work visas but that could be an easier option just to get you over there and try to impress someone enough to want to keep you

Welcome to BE,

You would be better to ask your question in the USA immigration forum here

US Immigration, Citizenship and Visas - British Expats
Where there are plenty of people who would be able to answer your questions

I don't think there is any visa that a welder would qualify for, even if one could find an employer prepared to wait months and pay thousands to sponsor, but as Mike has said, paige_2 should ask in the US immi section of the forum and s/he'll find the lovely folks there will help him/her out.
