Just wanted to say "Hiya!" to everyone before I get going on posting in the Forum.
I'm a staff nurse and my husband is a telecom engineer and we're both looking to work in the USA...preferably Florida.
I've looked for some 'threads' for telecom engineer work on here and there doesn't appear to be any...if someone can point me in the right direction for that line of work I'd much appreciate it xx
Hubby has around 30 years experience, but I can't seem to find any info on his line of work and whether there is a demand?

The best place to look are in the USA forums where there are dedicated threads for immigration, also look at the top threads in that forum for more information.

I see you have already posted in the US forums...good for you.

Unfortunately you have picked one of the most difficult countries for Brits to move to. Your career as a nurse is no longer a pathway into the US. As far as your husband is concerned...take a read through this...if he/you can fit into any of the categories...you may have a chance of relocating to the US. You also have to consider that there are millions of Americans out of work...why would an employer go to the time, trouble and expense of employing a foreigner when he can employ an American? Have you considered Canada...or even Australia?
Good luck anyway. The people who frequent the US forums will help answer your questions.

Hi JerseyGirl,
Many thanks for your kind welcome
Thank you for the link, I will check it out shortly
In answer to your comment, yes, I do appreciate there is alot of unemployment in the USA right now, but still you can't stop a girl from trying
I would be open to Canada, but hubby is set on the USA...and to be honest so am I...

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
