Hi everyone, I've recently moved from Scotland to Dubai. Hoping to make some new friends and find out more about Dubai. :)

Hey LisaMarie...welcome to BE.

You've come to the right place to make friends in Dubai. We have a lively bunch of people who post in our Middle East Forums...they quite often have BE meet-ups. :thumbsup: There is also an Introduction thread in the Sand Pit...why don't you pop over there and introduce yourself?

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

No relation to Elvis lol. I don't exactly have a profession (which is proving difficult here!) so just looking for office work, got a big interview on Sunday though :)

Umm, not really enjoying Ramadan to be honest. The whole no drinking in public thing is ridiculous in this heat.

Just carry water with you darling and pop into the cloakrooms as and when :)
There are lots of places open during the day through Ramadan. Most of the hotels have somewhere and the Lime Tree in Al Quoz is open plus most of the restaurants in DIFC
