Hello all,

I wish I'd come across this place earlier.

I've been away in Italy for almost 13 years, but I'm heading back to the UK in a couple of months, which certainly feels somewhat bitter-sweet at the moment. I have some questions about moving back that I'll post in the appropriate area in due course.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help out. If anyone is looking for any info about living in Italy, I'll be very happy to help.

Have you look into getting Italian citizenship before returning to the UK? Having an EU citizenship after Brexit would be useful.

I have indeed, and I applied earlier this year, should come through in a few months. Like you say, given the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, and the fact that I qualify for Italian citizenship, it seemd churlish not to go for it.
