Greetings from Melbourne
Hello!
Found this forum hunting for info about moving to the USA and so far it’s answered two of the questions I was really struggling to find information about so...thank you!
I’m originally from England, moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2014 and now I’m moving to Massachusetts, USA on a company transfer visa. Yes, I’m moving from an Australian summer to a Boston winter and, yes, I am really concermed I’ve forgotten what real cold feels like! 😛
Hopefully I can answer some questions for people moving to Aus as well as finding the answers to my questions about moving to the US.

Hi [insert name/nick here] and welcome to BE
Quite the adventurer aren't you and you were given the perfect way to sample life in the US as the company will supply (and family?) with the appropriate visa to live and work in the US.
Before venturing out into the larger realm of BE, please have a read of the site rules. I'll place the link below.
Yes, you will moving to Boston, MA in winter (assuming you will be moving in the next month or two). There are several Brits already living and working in the Boston area and suburbs. One such Brit is our moderator, Bob. It's not just the cold you will need to come to grips with but the amount of snow and ice and incompetent driver's on the road. Hopefully, you will be housed in an area where you can use public transport to and from the office.
I'm sure that your experience with having emigrated to Australian can be used in the various Australian forums. So, please, have a look at that area, as well. The links for all three are below:

Re: Greetings from Melbourne
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I'll be moving on my own so it'll be great having somewhere to come for advice when I hit panic mode!
Plan is to move before Christmas, hopefully I'll be settled before the snow and ice gets too bad! Public transport to my office isn't really an option as it's outside the city, but I can work from home and my bosses are pretty flexible so hopefully I'll be ok.
Thanks again for the guidance and the welcome.
