Default Going to Oz (Sydney)

Hi everyone! I was told to introduce myself here... We are a Dutch family of four (me, my husband and 2 kids (2 and 6). We lived in Wollongong in 2007-2008 and moved back to The Netherlands after health problems and we fell pregnant with bub 2. Not long after we set foot in our 'home town' we realised why we looked elsewhere in the first place. And thus a looooong process of doubt and plans began. We are now in the process of getting our youngest a visa and figuring out when to leave. My husband has got a job offer going in Sydney, so that we'll be the area we initially (and potentially permenantly) move to. My questions are mostly about finding good schools and nice (and affordable) area's to live. We are very excited, and I must admit anxious too. Hope to see a lot of you on my question topic and learn a lot from this forum (recommended by a friend of mine). Thanks to all!

Hi...welcome to BE.

Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. I was going to say you're about to become a Ping Pong Pom but you're not British and I don't know what the Dutch equivalent is. I'll post a few relevant links to help you find your way around the site.

We have a great bunch of people who post in our Australia Forums...they will give you tips and advice about schools, areas to live etc. The link I have given you will take you to the main index page of the Australia Forum...at the top of the page you will see a list of sub forums. The top forum is the Immigration Forum...please post all visa related questions in there. The Main forum is for topics relating to Australia and The Barbie is for general chit chat. Also take a look in the BE Wiki...you'll find loads of useful info in there.

Before you begin posting please take time to read through the Site Rules and any stickied threads or announcements that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.

Kelli28 is the concierge for the Australia forums...so if you have any problems finding your way around our many forums please contact Kelli.

For all other concerns or problems please contact a moderator or admin. Every BE forum has at least one moderator dedicated to that forum...Australia has 4...Cresta57, Monneypenny20,, Sonlymewalter and Alfresco.

I hope you enjoy your time with us and don't forget to shout out should you require any help.

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.
