Hi - can't believe I'm the third new joiner today! What a relief it looks like many, many people have done all this before... and what a great community spirit there seems to be on this site!

My husband and I are moving from London to KL in February for his new job and we're only at the very start of thinking about what needs doing by when etc.

We're so excited but have only lived abroad for short stints during/post-uni etc... I imagine this will be a whole new ballgame.

Great to have found this site... it looks like there's already a wealth of helpful info... I look forward to "meeting" many of you!

Not only will you find the forums a great resource for information...you will also find our members are very supportive. It's a lifesaver to be able to log on here and 'chat' to fellow Brits when you're feeling homesick. One of the things many of us miss the most is the British sarcastic sense of humour. You'll find that plentiful on here...whether you miss it or not.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
