Early retirees in italy
We bought our beautiful house in the Appenines midway between Bologna and Florence last September and moved over permanently in November. Since then life has been a mixture of relaxing, chilling out enjoying not having to get up to work, relishing the (much) warmer weather and managing a stream of visitors. At the same time improving and overseeing renovations on the house. We are applying for Residency and have completed our application form so are in the process of doing this. We're happy here, feeling settled very quickly and although it's very early days feel accepted into our rural community. Our language skills are coming along slowly but surely and add to the challenge of life here.
I've joined this site for practical reasons as I'm interested in the differences between regions as to what the legal requirements are for ie our residency. Also for some reassurance or simple familiarity with others in a similar situation as Brexit looms ...

What a lovely introduction Mrsbeez, thank you and welcome to BE
It's so nice to hear that you've settled into your new home and community so quickly. You'll find lots of useful info and nice people to chat with on BE.
Housekeeping stuff - please have a read of the site rules when you get a minute, and please contact one of our friendly moderators if you run into any site related problems.
Best of luck with it all!
