Could we help each other?

Hi all, I lived in italy over 22 years and loved evert minute and almost everything except the Beurocracy. Many of the expats I have known usually had to move back because of 2 main reasons the children's education or employment. Most other things can be managed and the more creative you are the better. I unfortunately fell ill 4 years ago with cancer and have decided to continue the fight in England although I had great treatment in Italy and probably better than I receive in the U.k. But most of the treatments are standard regime of pills and Ct scans. Most of the last 4 years have been Trying with getting out of bed and feeling useful - that's the moaning part over.
I lived all over Italy and and did the usual from teaching English to bar work and then eventually running my own business. It was quite successful but in the end I could not run the business and the economic downturn did the rest. No regrets it was great.
I am not soliciting but hoping to be able to be able to help someone who is moving to Italy. If you need any advice then I am happy to be able help and exercise my brain. I ended up in Valpolicella a beautiful area north of Verona. I bought a house and some flats which I'm not sure what to do with. One thing I know is that the reasons I bought them would be the same as many of you who are considering a move to Italy. I wish I could be there and who knows I might make it. Stunning views, beautiful walks and great food all around. 400 meters above sea level and a panorama of the valley and Lake Garda second to none.
Anyone that wants to discuss further please feel free to contact me and I will help in any way I can. Just to say the Verona area functions and is no longer as expensive as people say. The south of Italy is beautiful and other than rent is often more expensive than the North. I visited Marche Alot in the last few years and was amazed how expensive the shopping was.
Can I help you? Could you hep me?

Hi David and welcome to BE :welcome:

There are a couple of sections of the forum most likely to interest you, moving back to the UK (http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=61) and Italy (http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=77)

You can find site rules from one of the buttons above (http://britishexpats.com/site-rules/) and a link to some FAQ (http://britishexpats.com/forum/faq.php)

Good luck with the return to the UK, and with your fight against cancer :)

Any problems and shout.

Welcome to BE.

I am sorry but you cannot use the forums for advertising. We do have a Classifieds Forum that you can use. There is a tab to it at the top of the page. You can also put a link to the ad in your signature.

Hello David and welcome to the forum. Mmm a bottle of valpolicella would go down very nicely :D

As has already been said, do check out the Italy section of the forum and join in with some posts.

All the best with your treatment
