Default Cant Prove Legitimacy

Hi Friends,

I am an American of English descent. My mom was American, my father from Cheshire. I am applying for my first U.K. passport. I have all my documents except for my parents marriage certificate. Since I was born in 1964 I need to prove that my parents were married. My parents are both deceased, I have no siblings, and I have no idea where or when they were married.

Is there any way around this requirement?

Please help,

Geoffrey
