Builder Moving UK to Aust (NSW Builders Licence)
Good morning,
My girlfriend and I are looking to move to Australia in the next 1-2 years. Whilst we have visa sorted via spouse visa (she’s Australian), we wanted to understand how we could have my UK building qualifications recognised and contribute towards a NSW Building Licence. Anyone that has experience of this process it’d be greatly appreciated if you could share the steps you went through. I currently have a HND (Higher National Diploma) in Construction and the Built Environment (2 years), An NVQ Level 3 in carpentry and 7 year experience working in the field. which I believe is akin to an Australian Certificate IV in Building and Construction (BCG40106) and 7 year experience working in the field. I’ve researched and enquired, however seems I need a registered training organisation to recognise my carpentry studies, but my university degree and experience are not recognised, so I’d need 4 years further study and 2 years experience as apprentice again. Thanks for any thoughts |
