Default Brits wanting to move to Canada

Hello,
Our family would like to emigrate to Canada and do so as speedily as possible! My husband and I both have masters degrees; he works as an environmental consultant (environmental impact assessment/auditing etc) and I am a science teacher. Having read quite a bit about visas and finding jobs I am beginning to realise just how tricky this move could be. However we are determined to take it on. I can see from reading the threads here that there are people out there with very valuable experience and would really appreciate any kind of advice or help. Thanks.

Hi Fern

Welcome to BE - you have certainly come to the right place for information.
We have a forum especially for Canada, where you can chat with lots of other expats who are either already living and working there, or are the process of moving there. They are more than happy to share information and advice from their experiences, and there is an immigration forum there too which will help you through the visa stuff as well.
You will find this forum by clicking the 'forum index' tab at the top left of this page. Scroll down the listed countries, double click on Canada and you're in.
Just pop in there, post an outline of what you want to do and wait for the replies to come.

You know the saying "where there's a will there's a way" so let me wish you and your OH the very best with your plans

Dread - x

Hi Fern and warm to the forum. All the best with your planning. It must seem like a great mountain of work at the moment, but sure it will be worth it in the end

Hi Fern and Welcome! We were in the same boat as you, exploring our options for moving and like you were keen to have it happen straight away! Our dream of moving began in 2008 and we didn't actually have our visas until August of last year so it took a little longer than expected. My advice would be to set a comfortable pace with your research and with a bit of patience and determination I am sure you will get there! Wish you all the best and hopefully we'll see you over in the Canada forums
