Beverley to Berwyn
Hi,
I've been poking around on the US forum for a while since I was offered a chance to transfer to our US office. As things are now moving on I thought I'd introduce myself.
The office is located just outside Philadelphia, close to the King of Prussia Mall which was a selling point to my wife. I took a trip out there at the back end of last year to meet the people in the office and have a look around. The area seems nice enough, though it's difficult to tell in the middle of winter.
The plan is for me to move out there in April and then my wife and three children will come out later when I've sorted out accommodation, transport, schools etc.
We didn't feel like the decision to move was a hard one. Our theory was, once the offer was on the table, we had to go, because if we didn't we'd just spend the rest of our lives wondering if we'd made the right decision. As it is we'll go over give it a couple of years and if we don't like it we'll come back.
A few other people have transferred over the years and they've been giving me plenty of tips.
I've got my interview scheduled next week for my L1A, so wish me luck.

The Trafford Centre Mall in Manchester was based on the King of Prussia Mall...just a worthless bit of information I thought I'd share.
I'm in northern New Jersey...so not a million miles from Philly. The weather should be quite nice in April. The winters can be tough and this winter has been especially bad but at least most days the sun is shining and the sky is blue. The summers are long, hot and humid...which I love. You will be within easy access of NYC and Washington DC...and just a 6/7 hour journey from the UK.
Like many others on here we also came for one or two years (my husband had a L1a visa)...that was 15 years ago. Somehow we just managed to get sucked into life here and the years have flown by.
If you have any questions about your visa please post them in the US Immigration and Visas forum. General questions about life in the US should be posted in the US Forum. The Trailer Park is for general chit chat.
Please take time to take a look in the BE Wiki...it's a great source for information. I also suggest you read through any stickied threads or announcements that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.
If you require any assistance finding your way around BE's many forums we have a team of concierges who will act as your tour guide...they will be pleased to help you. The concierge for the US forums is Kaffy Mintcake.
Any problems or concerns should be addressed to a mod or admin. The mods for the US Immigration forums are Rete, Meauxna, Noorah101, Bob and MsElui.. The mods for the general US forums are Bob and MsElui..
Please give me a shout if I can be of further help. I look forward to seeing you in the US forums.

Re: Beverley to Berwyn
we transferred over in 2007 and liked it so much we got the employers to do our green cards. Hope you like it as much - and if you have questions - ask away in the US forums.
