A big hello to you all out there.... Ok, We have made the decision to move to Aus.... I am Aussie Born, and we are currently in the process of getting my four kiddies made aussie citizens by decent..... My husband I believe will need to apply for a spousal visa...... What is employment like in Perth, my hubby has been an engineer in a plastic factory here for over 12 years.... My history is Banking, however i am currently a stay at home mum, but would love to obtain part time employment.
We rent here in the uk so will be looking to do the same in aus, and have kids aged 10 8 7 and 9 months, so will be looking for great schools.
We know cost of living is high in perth, however the quality of life (outside stuff) is better, and i stongly beleive it will be a better life for the kiddies.... pls pls help with any advice on the job front, tax etc xxx thanks so much:D

Hello and a big welcome to BE.

Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.

Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.

Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Hi Nolan8

Welcome to BE.
I recommend you pop in and check out our Australia forum where you will find plenty of expats who are living and working in Perth, many of them will be only too happy to give you all the information you need to help you along with your plans. There are plenty of mums with youngsters too so you will be in good company.
You can find this forum by clicking the 'forum index' tab at the top of this page. Scroll down the list of countries, double click on Australia and you're in. Just say Hi and take it from there.
We also have an engineering forum, which you will also find on the forum index page - it is in the section entitled 'working abroad by profession' - hubby may want to have a peep in there.

That just leaves me to wish you all the very best with your planned move and I hope you enjoy making new friends here on BE

Dread - x

HI nolan 8 your engineering experence will allow you to diversify into other
branchs of engineering , as I had to do when i came here in 1966 as a toolmaker of plastic injection moulds. there are no mass production companies in WA,may I suggest a website called SEEK WA which advertises jobs in WA.I am now 87 Ex Royal Navy WW2 veteran. <<<snip>>>
