The Adventure Begins...
Hi - I've just signed up to BritishExpats having discovered it whilst trying to find out about cellphones in the USA. In an hour of scanning the forum, I've already found out answers to a couple of questions which had been bugging me for a while.
I've recently been offered the chance to relocate to Columbus, Ohio with my firm, after about 5 years of trying to engineer a move - now the reality has set in that its going to happen I've suddenly realised that there are loads of questions I have and I've clearly found the perfect place to ask them. My wife and I, and our two young daughters are extremely excited but also a little daunted by what's to come.
Looking forward to getting as much info before I go and hopefully giving and receiving once I'm over there.

Several of our members live in the Columbus area...I'm sure they'll be pleased to give you tips and information on life in Ohio. Cell phones here tend to be more expensive than the UK...one big difference is you pay for incoming calls by the minute.
We have an excellent US Immigration and Visas forum...if you have questions about the actual immigration process please post them in that forum. You will get lot of good advice from the regulars who post in there. General questions about life in the US should be posted in the US Forum. The Trailer Park is for general chit chat.
Please take time to take a look in the BE Wiki...it's a great source for information. Also please read through any stickied threads that may be posted at the top of each forum's index page.
If you require any assistance finding your way around BE's many forums we have a team of concierges who will act as your tour guide...they will be pleased to help you. The concierge for the US forums is Kaffy Mintcake...please contact her if you need pointing in the right direction.
Any problems or concerns should be addressed to a mod or admin. The mods for the US Immigration forums are Meauxna, Noorah101, Bob and MsElui.
Please give me a shout if I can be of further help. I look forward to seeing you in the US forums.
Good luck.
