Re: Which is your favorite family restaurant chain ?
me three, I always get a great value at Olive garden. I love 'em all though
Chilli's, Outback, On the Border.
We also go to a Tex-Mex "hole in the wall type restaurant" down the road, its O.K nothing to write home about though!

TGIF isn't bad. Kids love it.
Applebee's SUX
Chili's SUX
Like PF Chang's
Love Macaroni Grill!
Never been to a Cheesecake Factory, but apparently they just opened one up close by so I'll have to try it.

These places are hit and miss as far as service goes. We used to go to Sheries, but then the service became shitty. Best place by a country mile is McGrath's...friendly,great food, nice atmosphere and very hot waitresses
Went to Chillis once. 45 mins before the food came, arsehole staff.
Worst place as far as food quality goes is Lizzy's. One would imagine prisoners getting better grub than the slop they serve.
So in conclusion, no these places are mostly pretty crappy, but if you can find a decent one, with a manager who gives a damn, then it can be ok.

Of the 3 years that I have had a green card, I have only spent 1 year in the country, I have never eaten at Dennys, I've never seen a Macaronni Grill. What is PF Changs? I like CF cause the food is good, yes you have to wait but I live on an island that can fit into Cornwall with room to move, the restaurants here are crap by any standard and the waiters don't understand what you are saying, so when we come back we like to eat at a quality place.
If anyone is in Camarillo, have you ever eaten at The Texas Cattle Company, there burgers are Sooo good and fairly cheap.

We like to try local non-chain restaurants but our favoite chain has to be Outback. For a few dollars more than Chillis or Applebees you can get a steak that is at least twice as good, and comes rare when ordered rare, which is a something of a rarity!

I can't say I'm a great fan of any of those mentioned, the kids love IHOP but then as long as they can get chocolate chip pancakes they love anywhere (ugh).
Ruby Tuesdays isn't bad, the service is variable but the salad bar is usually good. Hoolihan's used to be good before they closed them all down but my favourite, which is loved by the whole family, is Kanki's. Not too expensive and great all round family entertainment, we take all our visitors there and we always have a good time.

We have a place near by us called Cheddars (there is also one in Lansing) they make the best burgers around and their cheese soup is very nice too.

How about Coco's?. We have a few and the food is always good and well priced. The bad part is their service is terrible. We always seem to get bombarded with trainee waiters and waitresses. We even had 4 come to the table last time we were there. I thought I was going to get press ganged into buying the most expensive thing on the menu. lol

TGI Fridays - only because I used to bartend at one while at uni and constantly met incedible females (all single men should bartend).
Actually, after years of going home while reeking of potato skins and fired mozzerella, I can't even stand the smell of the place now...
Cheescake factory is decent food and American-sized portions.

I suppose I must be spoiled in Nashville as there are lots of good independetn restaurants - last time i went to a chain was over a month ago
I can't stand Amer-italian food - its just about cheese, cream and grease - i.e. catering to the things americans love
I love the cheesecake factory
PF changs is pretty reasonable overall
The single worst experience I have had with food here (relative to cost) was when I went to a ruths chris steakhouse and my steak came out in a pool of butter, my 'creamed spinach' was more cream then spinach and the garlic mash was straight out of a box - what a waste of $140 - especialy since everyone had raved about it

Speaking of more expensive type places. I highly reccommend the Compass restaurant at the top of the Hyatt hotel here in Phoenix for any of the locals. My wife and I had our anniversary dinner there on monday. The restuarant rotates around 360 degrees and takes about 55 minutes to completely rotate. We had an awsome unrushed dinning experience that cost us $130 dollars. The prime rib was excellent.

I'm not very happy that our nearest 'Fuddruckers' burger place has now been re-incarnated as a 'Hooters'......
