Yikes! No filed tax returns!
Hi, I've never joined a forum before so hope I'm doing it right!
I am a U.S. citizen, residing in the U.K. for the last 6 and a half
years with my British husband. We now want to move to the States and
have started the green card process for him. We're in the beginning
stages and have sent off the initial paperwork with our check for $190.
The approval for that petition (immediate relative status) was approved
in two weeks (!!), and the case has been forwarded on to the next
stage.
My problem is...I have not submitted any tax returns since moving to
England. I didn't work the first year I was here, and my income since
falls well short of the $80,000 of foreign income annually which is
taxable. Will this be a problem when submitting the I-864?
Help!

Yes, it is a problem and you should take care of it as soon as possible.
File at least the last 3 years now. There is (or used to be) an IRS
office at the US consulate. Contact them for assistance. I would imagine
they have encountered this problem many times.
