Yet more security checks
I've just had a letter from Natwest Offshore Bank requesting me to fill out a questionaire asking details about myself, as I have an account with them. They also then want me to confirm my identity and address by sending them a notorised copies of my passport and utility bill. What next? Will they be wanting fingerprints soon too? Has anyone else encountered this yet?

Then again, in light of identity theft and criminals hiding money in offshore accounts, you should be pleased that NatWest has the sense to ask you to prove your identity.

We had to send full details and photocopies of passports etc to open accounts with HSBC in Jersey. I didn't mind, they have far better security than US banks IMO.

No, it's not to open an account, we've had this account for 2 years now. It was transfered over from a normal account which we'd had with them for 15 years!
I accept it does look like they are trying to overcome identity theft and criminal activities, it's just a bit irritating and it feels like everyone is questioning who you are to the nth degree these days.
