Mine are 13 hours drive away and couldn't be that much further north of the US...

Best:
1. Buying our first home.
2. Getting a dog from the pound (just before he got the needle)
3. Moving to Chicago from Ohio, much happier here.
4. Getting my first ever decent car, '04 Grand AM GT (and not having to make payments on it)
5. Still being happily married, despite a tough year of being apart quite a bit with me travelling to Chicago quite a lot before wife moved up here in July.
Worst:
1. Still can't quit smoking (really going to do it in the new year)
2. Missing home, sometimes.
3. All the yard work in the fall here, never ending.
4. Bush back in office.
5. Good god is it cold here in Chicago!!
