xe trade setup time

Be warned, it takes about 10 days for all the back-and-forth with account setup, paper work and verifications. I wanted to send money back the the UK at $1.95 and its now $1.99. It would havew been better to just wire directly from bank and have Lloyds convert it as I've done in the past.

Yup if I transfer money from my US bank account before 3 pm it's transferred the next day...following day the latest. You have to consider the interest you've lost while the money is transferring plus the fluctuations in exchange rate.

i set mine up in october - before we came here - and only got round to using it today - as i knew it could take time and would be easier to do it in uk where i have lots of the evidence required etc.

MsE - I tried to do that but they wouldn't let me unless I had an address and bank a/c in the States. did you already have these?

no i didnt. i did it in england with my english address and bank account. When i actioned my trade this week it asked me for a benificiary - at which point i gave them the details of the american bank account it was to be paid into.

From memory i had to give copies (fax) of current utility bills or similar for the uk address, a cheque that had been voided - but so they could see the bank details etc, copy of passport . I didnt have a US address OR bank account at that point and dont remember being asked for it at all.
