XE .COM on line currency etc !!
Hello to all,
Well we landed on 4th September and all is going well with the exception of Isobel passing us by only 60 miles in Charlotte. Here's where I do need help, Sometime ago Im sure someone mentioned using Xe.com for currency transfers from the UK to Here. Im quite happy to use them but have that voice in my head questioning whether this is a good idea !! Can anyone out there vouch for them - would like to hear some good reports if possible. Cheers - Mark |
I've used them in excess of 15 times - very reliable so far

You will wire money to a Bank of America account in London, and they will wire dollars to your U.S. account. Make sure you include the "Deal number" in your UK wire as a message to the recipient, so they know that your payment has arrived. |
thanks for the info - its apprieciated

Hmmmm, not exactly what I meant ;) but thanks...
Converting dollars back to sterling without hefty charges. |
Originally posted by JerseyBoy Does this work in reverse? I need an efficient way to send money to a UK account? but XETrade (the trading part of xe.com) can convert any currency you like, at a very good rate. US Dollars to GB pounds is no problem. http://www.xe.com/fx/ Check them out. |
Thanks - seems great.

Hi
I have always used Onlinefx.co.uk these are based in London and give an excellent exchange rate. I have used them many times without a problem. The guy to talk to is chris ainsley |
Sorry, I need to boost this thread to the top. We're almost in the position of transferring money and really want some reliable information. With exchange rates being very good I called our bank to find out what rate they would exchange for. They came back with $1.70. I think its crap, I want to do XETrade, but am understandably nervous. Has anyone done transfers with them? Also, when you signed up, did you have to fax a signature to a US number? Thanks for any information

Hello
I have signed up with them and did have to fax the form to the USA. To get a higher credit limit had to supply passport and other photo ID. Have not used them so far and may test with a small amount of money but they seem very professional thus far. Hope that is some use |
Hey, amerlisa....
dunno how much you are looking to transfer, but i personally would not give a second thought to less that 10k GBP
XE have a good track record and the company i work for uses them to transfer 10s of '000s |
