New subscriber to the site, although I've been lurking for a while. Interesting, entertaining, often useful!
Now I have a question:
Has anyone used xe.com to transfer money from the UK to the US? I need to move a rather large sum, so I'd like to know that the operation is legit.

xe.com is great - I have used it many times over the last couple of years
I got a rate of of more than 1.7 on my last transaction!

I've used www.onlinefx.co.uk a couple of times - they're good, offer a good exchange rate and it's free and also free to transfer funds into your US account.
