Default Working in the USA on a K-1

Hello every one,
I am about to file my application forms for a K-1 visa here in London , the forms seem straight forward enough and we have all bases covered. But i have one question for you all to ponder,When i eventually get my visa stamped on my passport will they also stamp it with a work permit? My brother went to live in dallas the same way as i am and he said they did when he got his but that was 12 years ago,has anything changed?

many thanx

The work authorization stamp is provided by the agent at the POE and not the US Consulate. 12 years ago most of the POE's provided the stamp and/or the card but today they are few and far between. Plan your entry at a POE that is still giving it, i.e. JFK in New York.

I think you can ask for a EAD stamp for your passport that will allow you to work
when you get here. otherwise you have to apply for a green card after you get here
and that takes a while to get.
