How do you people feel about it over here with even less holiday time generally being offered?

I would guess this would be an easy one for Expats to answer but I would be interested in hearing from actual US citizens on this.

When you enter the work force in England, 20 - 25 days holiday a year is the norm. I've heard many ranges in the US, one person told me they only get 7 days while others say 10.

Some of my previous employers would make you take holiday if you had built up the time and hadn't used it. Others have paid me at the end of the year for the days I never took (although this was only with one employer).

But as we originally worked in England, we would naturally think that 10 days holiday a year in the US is a tad small.

But do US citizens accept this? After all, it is the norm for them. Or do they feel it an injustice?

Aye, it was a serious thread, obviously no one works around here then :D
But 7 days is shite, and then getting extented amounts after 3 yrs etc....bit of a joke, the missus I think gets 11 days, but can't use half of them on any of the holidays...really stupid...makes having holidays abroad difficult to make it worth the money...
