Of course I'm retiring here, I love it here. I certainly wouldn't live here if I hated it, like a lot of people do. I would leave. I love England too, so it wouldn't be a hardship to me. I have family in both countries.

It isn't so black and white though for most is it...there's up and downs to everywhere, but when your married to a septic, you either put up with it to be with someone you love, or you chose to not be, and be somewhere else that'll make you happy, but that breaks up a relationship, so again, not going to be happy.

Personally, I don't mind it here, I don't love it, but I don't hate it either, I'd say indifferent, but I don't fancy being old and or poor here, and certainly not here if I weren't in a position to afford/drive a car here.

I agree, getting very indifferent myself after a couple of years. Wouldn't your missus contemplate a move to the UK then Bob? Mine would, but I think perhaps that would be the road to ping-pongdom.

yeah, she liked it when she was over there for a year and wouldn't mind going back, but we don't have any kids, so i'm sure if we did that might change as she's more close to her family than I am....but we're waiting till I get citizenship which will then give us more options.

Retirement? I plan of dying before I retire. I'd end up a grumpy old f**ker that has nothing better to do all day than abuse people on internet forums. Atleast while I am of a working age I can save that for the evenings.

I was serious, I couldn't sit at the computer all day taking the piss out of people.....I'd enjoy it so much I'd forget to eat and die of malnutrition before my 66th birthday.

I dunno how you do it......you're my hero.

Ideally we would like to have a home in the sun here and a home near Chester, England....best of both worlds.
