I can only stomach turkey in small quantities, so no, we won't be having turkey. Frankly I'm a bit at a loss as to what to do about Christmas dinner. In past years we would always go to my mum's, so I've never really had to think about this before. Suggestions anyone? (Not ham though...) |

I'm not sure I've ever seen a (dead) goose here - but then I haven't looked :D Roast beef seems a better idea though. Actually I quite fancy a leg of lamb, but they are soooooooo expensive here! :( But I just can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit this year... |

(Not ham though...) We'll be having chicken and some sunday lunch stuff, maybe with some thanksgiving type dishes thrown in :) |

Not in our household. Turkey is for Thanksgiving. Ham is for Easter. Christmas is usually a beef dish, i.e. Standing Rib Roast and some type of pasta dish. Rete |

Turkey all the way baby! Plus I agree about the stuffing here, I prefer it to the stuff we had back home. I especially liked the one a friend cooked for Thanksgiving this year, with crab & cream cheese in it, it sounded gross when she told me what was in it, but it tasted delicious!!!

We will definitely be having turkey and all the trimmings for Christmas, including Christmas Crackers.
We had lamb at Thanksgiving. |

your friend's stuffing sounds different for sure, we had one at Thanksgiving with pecans in it....I'm nuts anyway and maybe that's why I love anything with nuts in so we'll be having that stuffing again Dec 25th.....enjoy your turkey :) |
Re: Will ya'll be eating turkey on Crimbo day??
We had turkey for Thanksgiving at our friends house, so it was done the traditional American way of yams with marshmallows, greenbean casserole etc. Christmas I'll be doing the turkey the British way, so it'll be like a completely different dinner. :)

Re: Will ya'll be eating turkey on Crimbo day??
I'd be quite happy with another turkey but the inlaws are still bored of it so it's most likely going to be roast beef. Starting to get the hang of the yorkshire puddings, which have become a favourite out here.

Re: Will ya'll be eating turkey on Crimbo day??
We will be eating with fiancees parents and since they don't eat meat, I understand Salmon is on the menu - don't have a problem with that. Actually we will then be visiting the other side of the family and there will be turkey on the menu so if I am not too stuffed with salmon can always sample the delights there or can do my own roast dinner another day. I do prefer Paxo but don't have too much trouble with the stuffing here either. Ambrosia and yams!! now that is another matter altogether!! ICK!!

I'm just glad I;ve still got some packets of decent custard left. I can pour it on my Xmas pud when I get sick of cream. |
