i am relocating to the USA and trying to decide if its worth bringing my wii with all the games and just get a new power supply. I have read a lot of conflicting information regarding this and am confused.

Some people say yes and others say no it can't be done.

i don't want to bring it if its not going to work, the kids will be really disappointed if it won't work.

Any help will be appreciated.

I've got a UK Wii here and it's worked fine for years; albeit it's a very dated piece of tech now. All I did was stick a UK to US power adapter on the UK power supply. I've also got one of those Component HDTV cables for it.

I'd imagine if you bought games for it then they wouldn't work due to region coding (I already had plenty).

Might as well get a Wii U though - I'd imagine those are going quite cheap now.

We brought one and although it comes on I think the problem is its linked to a US TV, its really fuzzy. Maybe if you had a UK TV too? I am not technical so no idea if that is the problem. The UK xbox works with just a US power cable and US TV.

Thanks for the quick replies, it's mainly for the kids, they have about a dozen games for it that they love to play, hence the wanting to bring it with us. I understand that the wii over here broadcasts on 50hz whereas US tv's are 60hz so that may be part of the fuzzy issue.

We brought our wii last year and use it with a new US tv -- its fine.

Get a Wii U, it's backward compatible...just hack the region lock on it...though might want to google that, there was a hack a while back when I last looked, don't know if that exploit has been patched over or not.
